Lauren Gunderson’s play depicts the strong friendship between Marie Curie and Hertha Ayrton, two pioneering scientists facing personal and professional challenges. Seeking refuge after a scandal, Curie navigates heartbreak and criticism with Ayrton, all while they continue their scientific work and social activism. This Australian Premiere highlights the power of female friendship amidst turmoil.

It’s doubtful he could have foreseen that, almost a century on, his prize would thrive as perhaps Australia’s most renowned and debated art event. Furthermore, one can assume he would have been surprised to learn that in the past twenty years, from a vast pool of entries, twenty artists born in China have been chosen for the final exhibitions.
