Comedy Night at The Oaks
This month’s line up includes Michael Hing, a versatile comedian, broadcaster, actor, improviser, and podcaster, appearing on Network Ten’s The Project, SBS’s Celebrity Letters & Numbers, and previously co-hosted triple j’s Drive Show. Chris Radburn is an award-winning international headline comedian with over 20 TV credits, including The Footy Show. An international finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, he has performed at major Australian comedy festivals. Esky Escandor is a writer, stand-up comedian, musician, and community organizer from Western Sydney. A comedy writer for ABC’s Gruen Transfer and a 2023 RAW NSW State Finalist, he debuted at the Sydney Fringe Comedy Festival in 2024.

Hayden Orpheum Comedy Club
In this month’s line up, Gary Eck, a popular and versatile Australian stand-up comedian with two decades of experience. Nabil Abdulrashid is a UK comedian seen on Live At The Apollo, QI, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, and The Off Menu Podcast. Becky Lucas is a Sydney comedy queen, headliner across Australia, seen on Conan, Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont-Spelling Bee, and Sam Pang Tonight. David Correos is the “mad man” of New Zealand comedy, known for his unhinged and reckless style, seen on Taskmaster NZ. Laura Hughes is delightfully wicked and charming, guaranteeing giggles. Pat Golamco is a favorite in Sydney comedy and Australian festivals. Frankie Rowsthorn is a Triple J presenter, popular in WA comedy, now taking Sydney by storm.

Chopper 25th Anniversary – Hayden Orpheum
Experience the intense true story of Mark “Chopper” Read, a legendary criminal whose autobiography, “From the Inside,” became a best-seller while he was serving a prison sentence. The film, based on his book, will be followed by a live show.
Saturday 23 August
Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto – Hayes Street Studio
Pianist Lee Dionne will perform Beethoven’s fourth piano concerto as part of a crossover program with Opus Now. The piece, composed in 1805 during Beethoven’s ‘middle period,’ offers a lyrical and poetic contrast to the intensity of his other works from that time. This performance will feature a chamber arrangement with string quintet, with Lee joined by regular Hayes musicians: violinists Anna da Silva Chen and Beatrice Colombis, cellist Chris Pidcock, and violist Marlena Stanhope.
