Mosman Art Gallery will be keeping the lights on after close for a one night only social event for the area’s young people.

On September 19, those aged between 18 to 24 are invited to MAG After Dark for an evening of live music, free pizza and drinks.

Local singer-songwriter Moss Cameron-Bernes and Liam Daniels, member of indie rock band Winter in Estonia, will take the stage.

The event will be run in collaboration with Mosman Youth Centre.

Mosman Council’s Youth Services team leader Matt Wyatt said while there were many existing programs and events for high school aged young people, there were less so for adult youth.

“We are looking to help fill that gap, with events specifically created by and catering to residents in the 18-to-24 age group,” he told the Sun.

“It’s also a great opportunity to explore the art gallery after-hours and make connections with new people in the area, while enjoying a great night out.”

It comes following the success of the recent Youth Centre Block Party, which saw young people of all ages enjoying live music, DJ sets, a dance floor, art workshop, silent disco and a photobooth in the centre and adjacent laneway.

Wyatt added he hopes MAG After Dark will become a regular event.

Registration via the youth centre website is required.
