Greenwood Plaza has launched a rewards program encouraging North Sydney shoppers to repair, reuse and recycle goods through participating retailers.

The Circle allows customers to earn points through the Greencard app by completing nominated sustainability activities, with points redeemable for rewards at the shopping centre.

Activities include exchanging clothing through Swap in the City and toys through Joy of Giving, repairing electronic devices at Dr Tech Zone, altering garments at Amazing Alterations and depositing textiles at the RCYCL recycling hub.

Customers can also earn points by dropping off old denim at Decjuba, using reusable cups at the centre’s cafés or bringing reusable shopping bags to Romeo’s IGA.

Greenwood Plaza centre manager Kelvin Fung said the program had been designed to make sustainable choices more accessible to customers.

“As a key retail destination for North Sydney, Greenwood Plaza plays an important role in supporting the everyday needs of our community, and initiatives like this demonstrate how we can help make more sustainable choices part of daily life,” he said.

The program was launched alongside The Circular City, a miniature city artwork constructed entirely from repurposed materials. The installation depicts activities including reuse, repair and recycling and is intended to illustrate the role of individual behaviour in a broader circular economy.

Greenwood Plaza said the initiative responded to demand from the North Sydney community for practical ways to reduce waste and live more sustainably.

“The Circle has been designed to make sustainable choices simple, accessible and rewarding for our customers at Greenwood Plaza,” Fung said
