Sydney’s Fringe Festival is making its way over the bridge with a one night only performance of genre-bending music and dance.

Ghosts Between Streams is a multi artform piece, blending chamber music, jazz and electronic soundscapes with break dancing and contemporary dance.

The Torpedo Factory car park at Sub Base Platypus is set to transform into a ‘dynamic tapestry of sound and movement’ for two sessions, at 2pm and 5pm, on September 22.

Trumpeter and composer Tom Avgenicos is joined by breaker Gerard ‘Kid Tek’ Cabellon, Japanese-Australian dancer Reina Takeuchi, string quartet Ensemble Apex and Delay 45.

“As someone who’s grown up in the North Shore, I’m very proud to be bringing the Fringe festival to North Sydney – the only fringe event this side of the bridge!” Avgenicos told the Sun.

“Ghosts Between Streams was inspired by daily walks through Stringybark Creek (Lane Cove) so it will be particularly special to perform in this unique location minutes down the road from its origin.”

He added: “The North Shore can play an important role in facilitating the arts in our vibrant city – I hope the locals can come along and support as it will mean more Fringe events in the future!”

The event description labels the performance as a ‘unique and unforgettable experience’.

“Through juxtapositions of light and dark, consonance and dissonance, smooth and jagged, acoustic and electronic, audiences are reminded that our shared spaces are something to be cared for, nurtured and enjoyed by all,” it reads.

“Ghosts Between Streams delves into the struggle between nature and urbanisation and their coexistence in community identity.”

Tickets are from $27.50 to $39 and can be purchased on the Sydney Fringe website.
