North Sydney Council hopes to inject new life into the area over summer with the announcement of two community events for February 2026 as part of the “North Sydney Streets” community series. The initiative aims to support local businesses, create a dynamic atmosphere, and transform public spaces into vibrant, pedestrian-friendly areas.

The festivities will kick off in North Sydney with CBD ‘After Dark’ on Friday, February 6, 2026. This inaugural event is designed to bring life to the CBD after business hours, running from 4 pm to 9 pm. The free, family-friendly event will be held in Brett Whiteley Place and will feature live music, gourmet food stalls from popular local vendors, and a pop-up bar. Attendees can expect activities for all ages. Further details, including the full lineup of performers and vendors, will be announced closer to the event.

Later in the month, the Crows Nest Street Festival is scheduled for Saturday, February 21. In a mini version of the annual Crows Nest Festival, Willoughby Road, between Albany and Falcon Streets, will be converted into a pedestrian hub from 12 pm to 5 pm.

The festival is an opportunity for local businesses and residents to participate, with the aim of showcasing local enterprises and providing a public space for entertainment, food, and creative activities.

Organisers are encouraging businesses to host live music, expand dining onto the street, offer special deals, run workshops or product demonstrations, hold book readings or art exhibitions, collaborate with local artists, or sample new products and distribute discount vouchers. Businesses are permitted to use the footpath outside their premises for displays or activities without needing an additional permit, subject to event guidelines.
