Can you feel Spring just around the corner? The days may be getting warmer but nights are still chilly. Around the North Shore there is a lot going on, so we take a look at three North Sydney Council events to get you through the last parts of winter.

Cosy Night at Bradfield Park

Wednesday 23 August, 5:30pm – 8:30pm

There’s nothing quite like huddling around a fire on a cold night. Take this feeling and move it to the harbour front, add a little live music plus some warm drinks and you’ve got a great night on your hands. This is part of the council’s “Village Vibes” initiative which attempts to bring a bit of heat to the local area. Cosy Nights is free, open to all ages and will feature singalongs with Adrian Joseph. People can BYO food, which is great excuse to grab some takeaway from the plethora of options.

Murder Mystery at North Sydney Community Centre

Friday 25 August, 6:45pm – 9:45pm

There’s been a murder in North Sydney, but can you solve who did it? North Sydney Community Centre is hosting its annual fundraiser with a chance to win a holiday to Fiji. Individually, or as a group (Max 8 people), solve a mystery set in an English country manor. Guests arrive for a weekend party at the mansion only to find the host drowned in the pool. To add to the mystery, three opposing wills were also discovered. This is all we can tell you…

Be sure to dress fancy is very welcome – think elegant 1930s, Great Gatsby style! Guests will also get a welcome drink on arrival and dinner by Chef Ashraf of St Leonards COYA Restaurant. All proceeds go to support North Sydney Community Centre.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Tempest at the Coal Loader

Saturday 26 August, 3pm – 8pm

Come You Spirits have been touring across Australia and internationally with their repertoire of Shakespeare plays. Now they bring their delightful night of theatre to the bay side. Classics such as A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Tempest will be performed in back to back time slots with each play edited to 1.5 hours. With a dynamic set of shadowlands and soaring soundscapes, with us all muddled together, this is Shakespeare like you’ve never seen it before.

Book a single show or a double pass to see A Midsummer Night’s Dream, first at 3pm – 4:30pm and/ or The Tempest at 6:30pm.
