Alliance Française and Greenwood Hotel have teamed up for the first time for a grand Bastille Day celebration on July 12.

Kicking off at 6PM attendees will be welcomed with cocktails as part of their ticket. DJ Loo-e, a staple of Oxford St nightlife, is set to step up to the Greenwood decks, spinning a mix of French favorites. For something smoother The Anna Weaving Collective will be performing soothing French jazz too. It wouldn’t be a real ‘quatorze juillet’ without the iconic Cancan dancers, who will also bring life to the party.

For food Four Frogs Creperie will be serving up sweet and savory treats, headlined by their chocolate crepe. Greenwood also has a tasty French food menu on offer featuring Parmesan crouton, croque Monsieur, chicken liver parfait, toasted baguettes, tartiflette pizza and baked camembert fondue.

This year, the Alliance Française de Sydney celebrates its 130th anniversary, making “celebration” the central theme.

French National Day, known as Bastille Day, commemorates two significant events in French history: the Storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, a pivotal moment of the French Revolution, and the Fete de la Federation on July 14, 1790, which celebrated the unity of the French people.
