Artarmon local scores in smartphone film award

Artarmon local Pete Malicki has received a Highly Commended award in this year’s Smart Fone Flick Fest (SF3).

Entering its 10th year, the Australian-based festival received hundreds of entries from around the world – all entirely shot on phones. 

Malicki’s Fair Paranoia runs for four minutes and was filmed on his Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. 

“A known murderer grows increasingly paranoid as an army of untrained intelligence officers perform surveillance on him,” the project’s description reads.

The best of the best, including Malicki’s film, will be shown at the Palace Chauvel Cinema in Paddington on the weekend of November 16 to 17.
