The Royal Art Society of NSW will open its annual student exhibition on Friday, November 6, highlighting selected works created throughout the year by students at its art school. The free public showcase will run from November 6 through to Sunday, November 29.
The opening launch will start at 6pm at 25-27 Walker Street, North Sydney and will feature drinks and light refreshments.

Selected entries showcase a range of pieces created across various art school disciplines, with submission open to all current students. The RAS Art School is a program with weekly classes in a wide variety of subjects, techniques and media.
“Members of the public and RAS friends will be able to buy the works on display. The show will include works in oils, watercolour, pastel, drawing and mixed media,” said Ms Christine Feher, RAS Gallery Manager.
Several awards will be presented at the launch for the best artwork in each category. This includes the Peter Dorahy Memorial Student Drawing Award, honouring the long-time RAS teacher. The Alan Hansen Memorial Award is an acquisitive prize open to all students, with the winning artwork becoming part of the RAS Art School Collection.
Established in 1880, the Society relocated to the Lavender Bay in 1954, providing a welcoming environment for visitors to engage with local fine art.
