What is the future of Waverton village?

North Sydney Council is taking the first steps to create a plan for the future of Waverton village, asking the public to have their say on the area. 

The consultation process hopes to identify the issues, opportunities and priorities that should guide Council in planning for the future of public spaces within Waverton Village. It is open to anyone who interacts with the area, from commuters to visitors and locals.

Potential public domain improvements could include the streets, footpaths, public spaces, landscaping, street furniture and other publicly accessible areas. No designs have been prepared and no specific improvements have been proposed at this point.

Some suggestions for improvements from Council include adding more seating and places to meet, outdoor dining and public gathering spaces. Potential environmental improvements could include additional trees and shade, improved landscaping, water-sensitive urban design and climate resilience initiatives. Plans could also include adjustments to traffic and pedestrian conditions.

Community consultation will conclude on Wednesday 30 September 2026. Council will then review and analyse the feedback, prepare a masterplan, and seek further community feedback before presenting a detailed masterplan for Council endorsement.
