A 36-year-old senior constable is facing a three-month license suspension and a $704 fine after allegedly returning a positive breath test in Cammeray on Monday morning.

The officer, who serves within a specialist command, was intercepted by colleagues for a random breath test on the Warringah Freeway off-ramp at approximately 11:50 am.

Following the roadside stop, the man was taken into custody and transported to Chatswood Police Station. Subsequent breath analysis reportedly yielded a reading of 0.054, resulting in immediate roadside sanctions and the issuance of a penalty notice.
