North Sydney’s Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College has announced from 2028 they will be welcoming year 5 and 6 cohorts. The school had previously offered primary school classes, but became exclusively a high school in 1979.
Their expansion was made possible after purchasing neighbouring properties for $20 million. In January 2026 the school acquired 194-196a Miller St, North Sydney, an office building that neighbours the campuses northern border.
Originally built in the 1980s, the 4 storey, 777 m² block, was previously leased by Lendlease throughout the construction of the Victoria Cross metro. It has been reported school plans to refurbish the existing building as opposed to a knock down rebuild.

To establish a smooth transition to their existing senior school the new Year 5 and 6 classes will be taught the IB Diploma Program and HSC, as well as Monte’s Middle Years Programme, in accordance with the NSW curriculum.
Founded in 1875, Monte Sant’ Angelo Mercy College began in a rented cottage on West and Carlow Streets before moving to its permanent Miller Street location in 1979. Major campus developments include the first purpose-built structures in 1906, the Middle School block in 1939, the McQuoin Centre in 2002, and Catherine McAuley Place in 2007.
More recent additions include the O’Regan Arts and Cultural Common in 2014 and the 2023 opening of Scientia Terrace, a multi-level facility featuring 12 science labs, an enterprise hub, outdoor green spaces, and a subterranean sports complex.
