Motorists will no longer be able to use High St to access Kirribilli and Neutral Bay heading north on the Pacific Highway just after the Bradfield Highway. The right-hand turn from the Pacific Highway northbound off-ramp onto High Street eastbound will be permanently decommissioned starting in July.

With the new changes, motorists will now have to use Arthur Street, Mount Street and Alfred Street North from the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Pacific Highway off-ramp to turn east. New directional signs and pavement markings that will be in place on approach to and at the High Street intersection.

The upgrade of the High St Interchange is part of the wider Warringah Freeway works, which started in April 2021.
This change is being implemented because the turn off will no longer be possible with the new median strip design and additional lanes along the High Street interchange. Two new northbound lanes will also be added between High Street and Arthur Street.
Broader improvements to the interchange includes a widened High Street bridge, new on-ramps, traffic lights, and updated pedestrian paths to improve local connectivity and safety.
