The Hayberry Precinct will officially return from an 18-month hiatus with a meeting on June 16. Established by North Sydney Council, the precinct system divides the LGA into hyper-local committees, allowing residents to share their views on local projects and proposals.
Covering the area between Ridge and Falcon Streets, and bounded by the Pacific Highway and Miller Street, the precinct includes key local thoroughfares such as West, Myrtle, Hayberry, Carlow, and Emmett Streets.

North Sydney Mayor Zoe Baker will officially reopen the precinct on Tuesday, June 16, at 7 PM in the Ros Crichton Pavilion at 200 Miller St. This foundational session marks the group’s first meeting since February 2024.
Temporary leadership will guide the initial sessions until an Annual General Meeting in October, where all executive roles will be determined by a community election.
“The revived organisation is designed to amplify the neighbourhood’s collective influence by harnessing the skills and perspectives of anyone residing, employed, studying, or holding property within the district boundaries,” a precinct spokesperson told the Sun.

The spokesperson added that the committee is “centred entirely on productive, non-partisan advocacy” and that its immediate priority is to “collect resident input, recognise key local matters, and establish clear objectives for the year ahead.”
“Community participation is vital to ensuring that local viewpoints are accurately represented and to fostering a more connected, informed, and robust neighbourhood moving forward,” they said.
