North Sydney councillor James Spenceley has been injured in a vehicle accident in Ukraine, where he continues to spearhead efforts to provide motor vehicles for medical and emergency professionals.
As has been previously reported, Spenceley has been co-ordinating an on-ground program to source ambulances and other vehicles that can be used for evacuations and patient transit for supply to Ukraine local authorities.
According to Spenceley, “We stopped for an emergency tire change and one of the drivers of the older honker army vehicles misjudged the stopping distance and hit the back of my car, I got my body out of the way, thank god, but not my arm.”
“I’m OK, but a little sore. I’ll be driving an automatic for the rest of the trip and we are back on our way, a few hours late but nothing will stop us getting these needed vehicles to the front lines to evacuate wounded Ukrainian fighters.”
Spenceley was elected as a councillor in North Sydney in 2021 and is known for his corporate activities such as the founding of multi-billion dollar telco Vocus.
