BREAKING: Baker, Beregi back as mayor, deputy mayor

Mayor Zoe Baker has returned as mayor for the 1 October 2026 to 30 September 2028 period at a North Sydney Council meeting tonight. There was no vote as she was the only nomination.

Cr MaryAnn Beregi was also returned as deputy mayor for a one year term. Again, there was no vote as she was the only nomination.

The two positions are determined by a vote of council when there is more than one nomination.

As has become the custom at Council, neither candidate spoke to their candidacy.
