Coles has officially opened its doors on Grosvenor Street, Neutral Bay, just 71 days after Woolworths vacated the premises. With a refreshed interior and new offerings, Coles aims to attract local shoppers as the latest addition to the historic Grosvenor Lane precinct.

While the new store’s layout largely mirrors that of the previous Woolworths, several new features are available for customers.

A new sushi bar, “Snowfox,” now provides freshly made rolls and sashimi daily. Additionally, a flatbread station contributes to the store’s baked goods selection, which includes fresh pancakes. A frozen mochi fridge, stocked with macarons, mini ice creams, and other treats, offers a unique surprise.

Store Manager Trent told the Sun, “Customers in this area are seeking high-quality, premium fruit and vegetables, along with excellent availability of dried goods throughout the store.”

A renewed Liquorland has also opened on the site, replacing the former BWS.

Previously, Coles owned the Grosvenor Street site but leased it to Woolworths. Coles previously indicated intentions to build an apartment block and an extended underground carpark under adjoining Grosvenor Lane, in return for helping build a street-level plaza but these plans have not progressed, partly as a result of planning uncertainties.

Coles has confirmed that its store at the Big Bear Shopping Centre, located just 500 metres away, will continue to operate with no plans for closure.
