IGA outlet Centro Milsons Point has secured the NSW/ACT Small Store of the Year at the 2026 IGA Awards of Excellence, positioning the outlet as a standout performer among independent supermarkets in the region.
The award was presented at a ceremony held on March 27 at Waterview in Bicentennial Park, where a total of 22 awards were handed out recognising store performance across customer service, merchandising, community engagement and overall execution.
Centro Australia chief executive officer Mike Khassawneh said the Milsons Point store’s recognition reflected both operational discipline and strong local support.
“We’re very proud to be recognised as the 2026 NSW/ACT Small Store of the Year. Centro Milsons Point is a family-run business, and this award reflects the hard work of our team and the support of our local community,” Khassawneh said.
“We focus on fresh, quality and value every day, and we’re grateful for the continued support from our customers.”
The Milsons Point store was cited by organisers for its presentation across fresh produce, delicatessen, chilled and grocery categories, alongside consistent in-store execution including shelf availability and layout.
The business is led by operators Mike, Alex and Daniel, with judges pointing to hands-on management, store discipline and a focus on customer experience as key drivers of performance.
IGA said entries were assessed against a range of criteria including department standards, merchandising, adherence to brand values and overall store outcomes.
Centro Milsons Point will now represent NSW and the ACT at the national IGA Awards of Excellence in July, where it will compete against leading independent supermarkets from other states.
