One of Kirribilli’s favourite bars is on the market with the listing of Bamfords for sale. Located at 12 Fitzroy Street, the venue has quickly become a favourite for locals and visitors alike.

Bamfords offers a cosy small bar setup with classic British pub inspiration. Think Shiraz gins, wines, and pints for drinks, and a food menu of polished-up pub classics like beef brisket sliders, schnitzels, and bangers and mash. It serves as one of the few bar hospitality options in Kirribilli, along with the Kirribilli Hotel.

North Shore localĀ  Alistair Pond founded Bamfords in late 2019, but is now looking for a suitable buyer to take over operations and their lease.

This means that, rather than a renovation or total change of business type, Bamfords is likely to remain largely similar to its current operations, just under new management and ownership.

The listing stated Pond is more than willing to work with the new owners to allow for a smooth transition.

The asking price has been reported as ranging from $179,000 to $229,000, which includes a full PSA liquor licence, operational plant and equipment such as the two in-house beer taps and grease traps.

Now, the question remains: with a quick sale preferred by the current owners what will Bamfords look like under new ownership? The North Sydney Sun will provide updates on this story once the licence has been sold.
