The Sydney Sixers have officially launched their 2025/26 season at an event held harbourside at North Sydney Olympic Pool. Throughout the summer, the Sixers will also play four home games at the historic North Sydney Oval, as well as host a special clinic at Neutral Bay Public School.

Both men’s and women’s squads were poolside for the season launch, which also marked the celebration of the club’s 15th anniversary.

Among the four home games the Sixers will host at North Sydney Oval is the Summer Session and Community Round. Following last year’s record-breaking crowd of 5,023 fans, the Summer Session returns to bring live entertainment, local food offerings, and double-header action in partnership with Good Time Sports Co.

Interim general manager Hayden MacIntosh is ambitious about the support the side will receive on the North Shore: “We’ll get some thunder for our summer session, which I know the team are working super duper hard to get us again to another attendance record”

“The Summer Session & Community Round is everything we love about the Sixers,” said outgoing Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes, highlighting the unique mix of rivalries, stellar atmosphere, and community celebration.

WBBL North Sydney Oval Fixtures 2026/27:

  • Sunday, 8 November (1:40 pm) – Summer Session Double-Header: Sydney Sixers vs. Sydney Thunder | Perth Scorchers vs. Melbourne Stars
  • Sunday, 15 November (11:00 am) – Community Round: Sydney Sixers vs. Melbourne Renegades
  • Saturday, 21 November (3:30 pm): Sydney Sixers vs. Perth Scorchers

WBBL captain Ash Gardner hopes to make North Sydney Oval a fortress this season: “Whatever the wickets they produce, hopefully we can have some success there. I feel like we’ve probably not been playing our best cricket at our home ground for quite a while. So hopefully we can change that tune this year and play really positive”

Gardner added that North Sydney Oval has unique features.: “I think the beauty of North Sydney is that you can catch up even if the wicket is a little bit tricky because it’s obviously quite a small ground. I feel like you never find behind the eight ball on ground”

The Sixers WBBL side is also spreading out in the local area, recently visiting Neutral Bay Public School amongst others as part of their school blitz. The school that sells the most tickets using its code wins a four-week Sixers clinic, delivered by the Sixers at the school, completely free for every participant.

Back on the pitch, the Sixers recently took out the pre-season 2026 T20 Spring Challenge, defeating the Perth Scorchers by 15 runs in the final at Cricket Central. Meanwhile at North Sydney Oval, the Australian women’s team recently won a three-game T20 series against New Zealand.
