North Sydney Oval will again be one of the centrepieces of the Women’s Big Bash League this summer, with the Sydney Sixers confirming four Weber WBBL|12 home matches at the historic ground in November.

The club’s marquee Summer Session will return on Sunday, November 8, when the Sixers host the Sydney Thunder in a Sydney Smash from 1.40pm as part of a double-header that will also feature Perth Scorchers against Melbourne Stars.

The event will again combine cricket with a food and beverage festival atmosphere, live entertainment and a Sunday afternoon crowd on the Hill. Last year’s Summer Session drew 5,023 fans, which the Sixers said set a new WBBL regular-season attendance record.

The Summer Session is being delivered with Good Time Sports Co., the Sydney events business behind the Beer Footy & Food Festival.

Sydney Sixers general manager Rachael Haynes said the Summer Session and Community Round had become key dates on the club’s calendar.

“The Summer Session and Community Round are everything we love about the Sixers and we’re excited to bring them back even bigger and better than ever,” Haynes said.

“Last year’s record Summer Session turnout showed just how much our fans love these events, bringing together great rivalries, unforgettable summer memories and incredible food and drinks.

“Whether you’re there for the cricket, the food, or the atmosphere, it’s a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”

The Sixers’ Community Round will follow at North Sydney Oval on Sunday, November 15, when the club takes on the Melbourne Renegades from 11am.

The club said the round would recognise local cricket clubs, players and the broader community, with meet-and-greet opportunities, match-day activities, club invitations and ticket offers for junior and community cricketers.

Good Time Sports Co founder Matt Rule said he expected this year’s Summer Session to build on the 2025 event.

“The WBBL double-header was awesome last year and we can’t wait to see what this summer can deliver,” Rule said.

“We have some of our area’s best food and beverage vendors, and we’re stoked to continue to put on an awesome day out for the community.

“Make sure to come along on the eighth of November to the Summer Session at North Sydney Oval.”

The Sixers will also host Perth Scorchers at North Sydney Oval from 3.30pm on Saturday, November 21.

Their final home match at the venue will be on Thursday, November 26, when they face Melbourne Stars in a prime-time fixture from 7.10pm. That match will follow an earlier clash between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers, starting from 3.40pm.

Tickets for Weber WBBL|12 go on sale on August 6, with Sydney Sixers memberships already available.
