2 June 2025

Beer, Footy, Food and a long weekend. It’s pretty hard to think of a better combination for a day out. The iconic festival is back at North Sydney Oval this Sunday 8 June, with a line up on and off the field that will have fans in paradise.
Bear Park will be packed with over twenty craft brewers, offering a huge range of cold ones from places like 7th Day Brewery, Young Henrys, Batch, Philter, and Waywards. Local Artarmon brewery and sponsor of the Bears Depot Brewery will be right at home, while former Rugby League player Spud Carroll might be more comfortable on the pitch but will settle for having his beer Spuddwiser also available on the day. We’ll forgive Spudd for playing for Manly because he brews a great beer.
There’ll be plenty of food on offer too, with trucks serving up everything from smoky BBQ from Smoky Sue’s to German sausages at Volkswurst and Japanese style pancakes from Maido Okonmiyaki. Vegetarian food is sorted too with Vege 4 Love and for sweet tooths, with Grumpy Donuts will put a smile on their faces.
On the field the main event of the day kicks off at 5pm with the NSW Cup match up between the North Sydney Bears and Penrith Panthers. The Panthers are one of the form sides in the competition currently sitting 4th on the ladder. However, the Bears will be confident of their chances coming off a clutch victory against Manly and having beaten Penrith 24-26 earlier this year.

Ahead of the big game, 6 nations will play 3 mini-matches starting at midday with the Latin Heat taking on the Philippines, followed by Ukraine vs Thailand at 1:20pm then Africa United vs Lebanon at 3pm. This will be a historic event as these nations clash on the iconic oval for the first time, showcasing some top-notch emerging talent.
Entertainment will be pumping all day with DJs spinning tunes, and for a bit of extra fun, the inaugural Beer Mile will be happening at half-time. The marathon style event will see contestants complete 4 laps of the oval having to drink 1 Heaps Normal beer every lap but if they chunder they. The winners will take home $500 cash for the fastest racer.

The inaugural Beer, Footy, and Food Fest was hosted at the home of the Newtown Jets; Henson Park, back in 2016. The event was a massive success with a huge crowd packing into the venue. It quickly became an annual event, with North Sydney hosting its own version for the first time last year.
