Australian luxury property developer Aqualand, behind AURA in North Sydney, was recognised at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.

The group dominated this year’s annual awards held at Melbourne’s Grand Hyatt hotel, walking away with the title of Best Developer, Best Luxury Developer and Best Mixed-Use Developer.

Shangjin Lin, founder and group managing director of Aqualand, was named the Publisher’s Choice for Australia Real Estate Personality of the Year.

It took out three development awards for AURA, a $1 billion mixed-use project at 168 Walker Street, alone; including the Best Mixed-Use Development title, the Best Luxury Lifestyle Development and Best Smart Home Development.

The development was also recognised in the design category, being awarded Best Luxury Apartment Architectural Design, Best Mixed Use Interior Design and Best Luxury Apartment Interior Design.

Set to be completed by mid-2024, AURA has been coined as being at the ‘forefront’ of North Sydney’s transformation into a secondary CBD.

29 storeys high, it will boast 386 apartments – consisting of one, two, three, and four-bedroom units, including sub-penthouses and penthouses designed by Woods Bagot and Richards Stanisich.

The design of the apartments revolves around three contemporary colour palettes – light, mid or dark – sporting open living spaces and harbour views.

Residents will have access to a retail precinct below, with a bakery, café, LA-inspired all-day bistro, a modern Japanese restaurant and an artisan providore as well as facilities such as a pool, gym, sky deck, private dining rooms and a barbecue space.

Aqualand was also awarded for its luxury apartments BLUE at Lavender Bay, located at 61 Lavender St, Milsons Point which was completed in July 2021.

BLUE at Lavender Bay was awarded Best Luxury Apartment Development (New South Wales) and Best Mixed Use Architectural Design.
